Improving Your Skills As A New Driver

The feeling of passing your driving test is something really special. There’s a huge amount of relief, followed by a sudden, rushing confidence. You may be burning to feel the wind in your hair, but you should still consider the possibility that you could have failed. There’s still a lot to learn after getting your license.
Here’s some great advice for driving after you passed your test.
My first piece of advice; don’t give your friends lifts immediately. I know that this may sound harsh, and you probably owe a few people lifts as it is. However, drivers being distracted accounts for a huge amount of traffic collisions every year. Seen as you’ve just passed your test, I’ll guess that you’re fairly young. You probably know better than me that a car full of teenagers can be exceedingly distracting. Jumping from the calm, assured voice of an instructor to four of your friends can be quite a change. For your first week or so, I recommend eliminating all possible distractions by avoiding giving lifts. Any good friend will understand your motivation if you tell them. Read More: AutosVoice.com

Kia Cee’d Hatchback

The Kia Cee’d is quite a rarity among hatchbacks. If you drove a new one, and then one which has been owned for a year, it would be pretty hard to tell them apart! It’s also fairly unique because of its massive depreciation rate. However, seen as you’re buying it used, this shouldn’t be a problem! Look around carefully for one at the right age. If you find one which is at least three years old, then you’ll probably end up paying a mere third of the factory price. The EcoDynamics petrol model is a particular steal. Some of these went for £22,000 when they were first released. Now, you can pick one up for as little as £7,000! If you’re going for the maximum possible value, then look no further!Read More: AutosVoice.com

Does It Make Sense To Buy A Hybrid This Year? Absolutely! Here's Why

Let’s face it; there are all kinds of vehicles you can buy nowadays. Some get powered by petrol engines, others by diesel units. And then you’ve got alternative energy cars, such as EVs (electric vehicles). One “alternative” option, in particular, is gathering pace in the automotive industry. I am, of course, talking about hybrid cars.
“What’s one of those?” I hear you ask. In a nutshell, a hybrid is a car with a petrol or diesel engine. The difference is it also has an electric motor and battery pack. For certain types of driving, the car gets powered by electricity alone. Examples include short, local journeys.
When the batteries are running low on power, the combustion engine takes over. There is no delay or issue to switching over, and so the driver continues their journey as normal. Read More: AutosVoice.com

Who wouldn’t want a new car, especially if you don’t have one or have one that is on its last leg. Saving Money on Gas

Of course, you spend a lot of money on gas. Maybe not as much as just a few years ago when gas was approaching $4 per gallon, but today it’s still enough. Want to spend less? It’s a lot easier than you think.
Here’s a few nuggets of wisdom to consider:

Don’t buy higher octane gas than you need – higher octane gas exists for one reason, to allow better combustion in high compression engines. Go with the octane level that your manufacturer recommends. If you don’t know what that is, look in your owner’s manual or call your local dealer.
Shop around – Search out the best deal in your neighborhood, or within a few minute detour from your driving path into work every day. There are several cell phone apps that can help you, GasBuddy is one of the major ones. Read More: AutosVoice.com
